We process and document cases, maintain violation and correction data, track outcomes, and work toward appropriate cultural correction.
When necessary, TBAT may coordinate or refer matters to Authorized TBAT Partners or aligned organizations within the Lineage Alliance Network (LAN).
TBAT was built to create trusted infrastructure for the Black American Descendant Community.
Our work combines professional standards, documented lineage, structured care, cultural responsibility, and cooperative connection to create pathways our community can rely on.
We don't believe lineage verification should end with a certificate.
Verification creates the foundation for trusted connection, organized community, cooperative development, and generational legacy.
Our work is grounded in documented Black American lineage and professional genealogical research, creating a trusted foundation for the people, businesses, organizations, and communities connected through our network.
TBAT builds systems designed to move people from information to verification, connection, care, participation, and cooperative opportunity with clear pathways and standards along the way.
We don't verify lineage simply to identify who belongs. We organize trusted connections that help descendants find resources, businesses, organizations, opportunities, and communities where they can build.
Everything we build is designed with generations in mind from documenting our ancestors and protecting our culture to strengthening businesses, communities, networks, and institutions for those who come after us.
We verify the lineage. We organize the connections. Together, we build the legacy.
TBAT serves as THE Lineage Verifying & Organizing Hub for the Black American Descendant Community. Verification establishes the trusted foundation—but what we build from that foundation is where the greater work begins.
Our vision is a connected Descendant Network of lineage-verified individuals, families, businesses, organizations, institutions, and cooperative communities working independently while building interdependently.
TBAT helps organize those connections so descendants can move through the network based on where they fit, what they need, what they offer, and what they are building.
TBAT establishes trusted lineage verification standards that help create confidence in who and what is connected throughout the network.
We develop pathways that connect verified descendants, businesses, organizations, resources, and communities rather than leaving everyone operating in isolation.
The goal is not for every person or organization to become the same thing. The goal is to create trusted connections that allow independent communities and institutions to work together, exchange resources, support one another, and build collectively.
The City is where TBAT's cooperative community model is actively practiced, developed, documented, and refined. It brings lineage-verified descendants together through organized community, shared responsibility, care, participation, and cooperative development.
What we learn through The City helps inform the frameworks TBAT can use to support and consult with organizations, collectives, and future lane-specific cooperative communities while allowing each community to maintain its own identity, leadership, and purpose.
TBAT HQ is the operational home of The Black American Tribe—bringing our departments, professional services, education, care, network partners, and cooperative work together in one virtual environment.
From genealogy and lineage verification to meetings, workshops, community support, network development, and partner collaboration, TBAT HQ provides structured virtual space for the work of the Black American Descendant Community.
TBAT HQ also serves as a cooperative workspace for our network. Authorized partners, connected organizations, and eligible lineage-verified members can access or reserve virtual space for meetings, events, office hours, collaborative work, and other approved activities.
Whether you're ready to research your family history, verify your lineage, connect to the Descendant Network, explore community, build cooperative relationships, or simply learn more about TBAT, there is a pathway forward.
